With our mask-optional policy at the church, we encourage you to participate in worship in ways that feel most comfortable to you. We recognize that members of the congregation may continue to wear masks for a variety of reasons. We also hope you will be mindful of the most vulnerable in our midst and refrain from attending worship if you have any signs of sickness or if you have been exposed to COVID. Weekly services bring our community together to worship God and connect with one another. The order of worship is relatively traditional, including times for singing, prayer, Scripture reading, and preaching. In their sermons, our pastors seek to connect the Bible and Christian tradition with contemporary issues and everyday life. We normally follow the lectionary (a list of suggested Bible readings for each Sunday that many churches use), but occasionally our preachers will pick another text. Our worship features organ music with the occasional inclusion of piano. We also have a full choir from September to early June. We love to sing, and we include traditional hymns and other music throughout our services.
The first Sunday of every month includes a time for sharing communion, and all are welcome at the table. We also have several baptism Sundays throughout the year, often on the third Sunday of the month.
Our Sunday worship service starts at 10:00 am and will last about an hour.
Children of all ages are welcome to stay throughout the entire hour of worship, but we also have other options, too. For infants and toddlers, you can take your child to the Crib and Toddler Room before or at any point during worship, where they will be cared for by one of our capable and background-checked volunteers. For Pre-K through 8th grade, we have Sunday School available from September through May, although children in this age range will join us for the first ten or so minutes of worship in the sanctuary.
If your child or you gets overstimulated during worship and you need a space to calm down but remain connected to worship, we have a Soothing Space Room that is designed to be a low sensory, calming environment where the audio from our worship service is still piped in.
