Jennie Barrett Siegal is delighted to join the Old South Union family as the Associate Pastor.  She is a graduate of Vassar College and received her Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School.  Prior to serving at Old South Union, she completed her first two years of ordained ministry as a Pastoral Resident at Wellesley Congregational Church in Wellesley, MA.  Jennie is originally from Rochester, NY, where she was born and raised.  She grew up in a large United Methodist Church in Rochester, where she first experienced God’s call to the ministry.  During the ordination process, however, she found her home in the United Church of Christ.

Jennie hasn’t yet discovered an area of ministry that she doesn’t enjoy.  Her particular interests are adult education and Christian formation, preaching and worship leadership, and evangelism.  Jennie is active in the wider life of the UCC through the Commission for Evangelism and Congregational Vitality of the Massachusetts Conference.  She also helps to organize the New England 20/30 Clergy Network, a network of UCC clergy in their 20s and 30s.

Jennie is recently married to her husband, Jon.  She loves to read both fiction and nonfiction.  She also enjoys a newfound passion for cooking, scouring cookbooks for new recipes to try.  Jon is certainly the primary beneficiary of her time in the kitchen!  She and Jon enjoy going to movies and musicals, as well as trying new restaurants.
